Trying to set up Sprint PPC6700. When we try to sync we get invalid
certificate see your exchange administrator. runninng w2003 with exchange
2003 Have not touched activesync virtual directory. What steps do we need
to do to get this working. My high level IT guy has not been available for
a couple of days...

thanks

If the certificate on the exchange server is valid and has been issued from
an internal certificate authority you will need to add the root certificate
to your 6700. You can do this by either asking your IT guy to provide you
with the root cert or you can find out from him name of the internal
certificate authority then use the "Enroller" program located on the 6700 to
get a user cert which will also place the root cert on your 6700. You could
sync without SSL but I highly discourage you from doing that as it puts your
login information out in the wild.

Hi,
Is your Exchange server using a locally issued certificate? If so then you
must get the certificate to install it. You can copy it from a PC that is
accessing OWA by:

1. Visiting the ssl webpage on the PC.
2. Right Click on a blank portion of the web page and select Properties
3. Click the Certificates button
4. Click on the Details tab
5. Click on the Copy to File... button to begin the export.
6. Copy the file to the Pocket PC and then navigate to it using File
Explorer.
7. Click on the file on the Pocket PC to install the certificate. Please
note that the Pocket PC and Smartphone can only import the base64 format
certificates.
