Hallo all, i am experiencing a very very unusual problem.
i am using windows server 2003 datacenter r2 sp2 german edition. i have once
live messenger 8.1 installed, it was completely ok. but now i would like to
upgrade to 8.5, so first i uninstalled my messenger 8.1, but i just could not
install version 8.5, it said something german like "the system has the
installation rejected" or "denied". then i had no choice but again try to
install version 8.1, but this time i had the same message "denied". so i
found version 7.5 and the installation worked. but as we all know the version
7.5 won't log on actually.
i wondered what has happened. i checked the properties of the ".msi" file of
version 7.5 8.1 8.5 and found that they both have digital certificate, but
the names of the certificates are not the same:
7.5 microsoft corporation MSN
8.1 microsoft corporation
8.5 microsoft corporation
certificates with name "microsoft corporation" won't be accepted by my
windows, the window "details of digital signatures" of the file property says
something like "the certificate is blocked" or "denied" or "rejected" with a
red "x" error symbol. but certificate with name "microsoft corporation MSN"
of version 7.5 is completely ok. why? What should I do?
