Can someone advise how I can change AD integrated zones back to standard
primary? As I looked at the properties of the zone and click change to
change type of zone, I only three options: primary zone, secondary zone,
and sub zone. Primary zone has already been checked.

Please advise!!!Thanks a lot!

Why do you want to do that?
AD Integrated zone feature is only available on domain controller.

I need to migrate DNS from one DNDS server with windows 2003 DC to
another DNS server with Windows 2008 R2 DC. But I noticed that all the
zone info have been replicated to the DNS server with Windows 2008 R2 DC
since all the zones are AD-integrated. Therefore, the next thing I need
to do is to change Windows 2003 DNS server's ip to something else so
that the new one (Windows 2008 DNS server) can use the same ip as
Windows 2003 and so I do not need to change all the points on client
machines. And then uninstall dns from Windows 2003 dns server, depromote
it, remove it from the domain, and then shut down. Is there anything
else I need to do during this migration process? Please advise!

Thanks a lot!

During off hours, such as a weekend, you can first change the 2003
server to something else, change the 2008 DC to the 2003 server's old
IP, then change the 2003 server to the 2008's server's previous IP.

Be careful. If there is anyting mapped to the old server by IP, it
will cause problems. If the 2003 server was running WINS, you will
need to add WINS to the 2008 server.

Let us know if you have any other questions.
