Change default open path of an app

Quick question...

I can't seem to find where to change the default folder locations for
opening a given filetype. I relocated a folder that msaccess had as it's
default and now every time the program opens it says it the location isn't
found (working folder not the exe)...

thanks much

Hello Jack,

You can use Default Programs to set the file extension type to be
opened by the "current program" you select at it's new location. This
will help show you how to if needed.

Hope this helps,
Shawn

Thanks for the reply Shawn. It's almost got me there (actually, this was
where I hit the block myself).

Rather than the Open With file, I need what I believe is called the working
folder or target directory maybe. Anyway, it's the default directory that
opens on the fileopensave dialog (any time you use the app to open a file or
save a file).

In XP is was right there with these. Called commands or something, a list
of all filetypes in an oh-so-convenient non-resizable tiny window with a few
buttons, one of them being Edit, where you would edit every property that you
would see when rightclicking any file of the type, along with a few other
ones.

This used to be accessable in XP from the OpenWith dialog (but these details
aren't available here from Vista), or under Folder Options, but again no
luck. I can't seem to access these particular properties.

For a few years my folder was D:\Devel and it has recently switched
something else, and I deleted the Devel folder after moving the project
location. But I didn't think of the registered working folder of the app, and
now I can't find it.

I've recreated the folder as a workaround, but would like to get it tied up
better. I should know this... driving me nuts.

If I really have to I'll take a registry key if anyone knows, but I'd prefer
not to.

Thanks again!

That did it.

I was thinking in the wrong place altogether.

Thanks
