change device name?

How can I change the name of my device (from the one given it by activesync
upon first connection to one I prefer) w/o activesync losing it? I have the
most recent version of activesync if that helps . . .

Just change it on the device. AS actually uses a different method to
identify your device than the name. The new name will follow on to the AS
screen when you connect again.
