Change lay out Windows Live Mail

I installed Windows Live mail and tried to adapt the layout off the
program to my needs. At the top of WLM there's a box where one can
"Search for a message". I don't want this box to be there but I can't
see an option to turn it off.

Does anyone know how to? All reactions are appreciated.

Cheers,
Ab

Hi, Ab.

I don't know any way to hide or turn off that search box. But I haven't
really noticed it after the first day or two of using WLM. And it does come
in mighty handy sometimes!

Of course, the visibility of that box depends to a large degree on the
overall View/Layout that you've chosen. My personal preference is much like
the "traditional" layout that I've used since OE, with the Folder List on
the left and the Message List and Reading Pane (formerly the Preview Pane)
in the middle, taking up most of the screen, with the new (for me) Calendar
on the right. Your layout is entirely up to you. Try a few different
combinations to see which one fits you best.

(I tried to see which version of WLM you are using, but since you posted
using Mozilla (Firefox?), I can't tell.)

Thanks for your response. I'm using WLM Version 2011 (Build
15.4.3508.1109) running under W7-32.
When I want to search for a certain e-mail I use Google Desktop Search
which is blazing fast.
I tried to look for a way to adapt the current View/Layout but, again,
no luck. Only columns can be made visible or hidden by the user.

Thanks again,
Ab

Correct, their is no way to change the UI beyond provided settings and the
Quick Access Toolbar (which allows one to add/remove clickable icons for
almost all Ribbon Menu and WLM button commands)....and unlikely to be
available anytime soon since the WLM API has not been publicly released.
