Change password on standalone machine without being able to log on?

[Apologies if this isn't really a networking question. Redirect me if
needed.]

We have an Active Directory domain where most of our computers are, but we
also have a few standalone Web servers. I was just given an account on one
of those standalone servers for file share access. The security freak inside
me wants to change my password from the one my IT guys gave me, but I have
no ability to log on to the standalone machine. Is there any way to change
my password remotely? I am NOT an administrator on the standalone machine.

Alas, no - you'd have to be able to access the local SAM on that server,
which means logging into it.

Hello Jeff,

On a standalone machine you have to logon to change the password, this is
not possible with just connecting to a share.

Hello Jeff,

Was to quick with sending the previous one. But if you have a password, then
you have also a useraccount and could logon to the server, where you should
be able to change the password.
