Change of resolution from hibernation on notebook

Hello there,

I've recently been experiencing some issues with Vista Home Premium on my
Acer Aspire 5612 notebook. A few days ago I installed World of Warcraft onto
my notebook and on first startup, the screen went black, the taskbar appeared
for a split second, went black again before re-appearing with the message
"Windows has disable certain visual effects". This is expected as I knew
Vista disables Aero with certain programs.

However, this 'process' now happens everytime Windows starts up or the
notebook resumes from sleep/hibernation. It's almost as if the system is
switching resolution then instantly switching it back. I had this issue a
while back when attempting to use a console emulator. Back then, I did a
system restore and the problem disappeared. However, it's not the ideal
workaround if I can't use the software in question in future!

Any way to solve this? Your help is greatly appriciated.
