Change in Right-Click since SP1

Since Vista (Basic) SP1, when I click Start/Programs and right-click Startup
(for example) and select Open, instead of the folder opening as it should,
it now gives me a search screen titled 'Search Active Captions'. Is there a
way to change it back to opening the folder as it used to?

Navigate to the following registry key:

HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT\Directory\Shell

Double-click Default key in the right window pane and change the value to
None
Save and Restart Windows.

*NOPE! This is not only a "Vista" problem, it is occurring in XP also.*
And I don't believe it has anything to do with a SP update.

I think this problem has occurred in BOTH Vista AND XP because of
CAMERA software install (I have 3, so I'm not sure which one did it).

Camera or not. This problem is not isolated to Vista, and no offense,
but I don't believe the above solution will work. (I've checked my
registry and the value is "none.")

I DO believe it was due to some registry change though - I'm not an
expert on "reg-editing," but I think the solution proposed is probably
very close to correct.

All this aside, there is VERY LITTLE about this problem on the
Internet. -- I have the problem and would love a solution for it as
well.

(There are even a few other places on the net that are quoting the
above 2 posts, as if it was the final word and solution on this subject
-- It can't be, because XP is having this problem also!)

*I have Windows XP Home Edition SP2, and am having the same problem as
stated by the OP.*

There should be a simple "regedit" fix in this somewhere, but it's not
the one proposed above (at the very least not with XP - And I doubt with
Vista as well.).

So, does any RegEdit Gurus out there have a better solution (and don't
forget about us "XP'ers" just yet.)??
