Hi,
I've set up my laptop so that I have 10GB on partition C: with the other
90GB on D:, I have Vista Home Premium 32-bit OS on the C: partition so there
isn't much free space on it. My question is; can I set Windows Update to
download/install updates onto the D: partition?

You would do better to use a partition management application to increase
the size of partition C: and decrease D:

Hi,
There is no configuration setting in Windows update to change the local
download folder.
In addition, the installation of updates will need space on the OS install
partition (C.
I strongly recommend that you increase the system partition size to atleast
30 GB.
