I reinstalled Windows XP sp1 on an HP pavilion 725 n. At startup, I receive
this message: Title=changeme.exe "Windows cannot find "changeme.exe." Make
sure you typed the name correctly, and then try again. To search for a file,
click the Start Button, and then click Search."

Search does not find the file. I do not know what the file is for or what it
goes to. Is this a necessary file? If so, where can I find it? If not, how
can I stop the message?

Thanks,
Patricia

Patricia,

If you reinstalled from the HP Recovery Disk then try this :

Go to Start, Run, and type in
msconfig
Click OK.

Click the Startup tab and locate changeme.exe under Startup Item.
UNcheck the box next to it, click Apply then Close. Restart the system.
