Changing what appears under Type in Windows Explorer

When in Windows Explorer I see Microsoft Office Word Document when the file
is a .docx. Is there a way I can change what appears in the Type column for
any type of file? As an example, I want to see Word 2007 in the file type
column not Microsoft Office Word Document when viewing a .docx file.

No can do, that's controlled by the code of the program that supports the
file type.

You could easily change the descriptions in the type column in Window
XP, but that ability was one of the things Vista left out for some
reason.

I read a post somewhere, which I wish I'd bookmarked because now I
can't find it, which explained how to do it by editing the registry.
