Changing the default download folder

I have several servers upgrading from NT 4.0 to Windows 2000 then 2003
Server. The C: partition is limited to 4GB under NT 4.0.
Windows Update automatically downloads updates to
C:\WINNT\SoftwareDistribution\Download and slowly eats up space on C: drive.
Is there a way to change the default download folder to another partition?
Can I delete the folders under ..\Download folder to reclaim the disk space?
They look like this:
C:\WINNT\SoftwareDistribution\Download\0aea300a57f 05abc2c5c0ccdfa632019
C:\WINNT\SoftwareDistribution\Download\00d89642900 83917d81118231d265f89
Thanks for your help.
Hien

No.

After all updates are finished installing, you can safely delete all
folders/files in the ...\SoftwareDistribution\Download\ folder (the
system should delete the files automatically 10 days after the
installation though).

Hien,

I just implemented a WSUS server, and we have a few older NT machines with 2
GB c: partitions. Most have a D: partition as well with plenty of space.
They don't seem to have enough space on C: to even download the patches to
get them successfully installed, so the answer from Torgeir doesn't help me
much. Were you ever able to find a way to move the SoftwareDistritbution
folder?

Thanks!
Kristen

Kristen,
Unfortunately not. I disabled auto update on these machines and plan to
replace them next year.
