Changing the default value of buttonface

In some of the earlier versions of Windows, changing the [colours] properties in WIN.INI enabled the property buttonface to be changed to a hardcoded value. As Vista does not use WIN.INI for anything other than back compatibility, changing this property in here is useless. Does anyone know how I can change this colour to a custom one?

Thanks!
