so i had various .VOB files, and i was manually changing them untill
got bored and did "Open with Windows Media Player" and now when i clic
on them i cant read the file since i have to change them to .Mpeg

when i do "rename" i cant change the .VOB it stays like that... so ho
can i make it so i can change it to .mpe

Manually changed a file's extension (the 3 characters after the dot)
doesn't change the file type, or the format in which it was saved. All
you've accomplished is to tell WMP that these allegedly "*.mpeg" files
are corrupted (as they're clearly *NOT* .mpeg formatted files) beyond use.

To truly change the file type, you'll need to open all of these files
with whatever application was designed to open them, and then "Save as"
*.mpeg, to create a new copy in the correct file format. And this, of
course, assumes that said application has the capability of converting
the file type.
