I downloaded Windows Live Mail. It seemed to automatically import the
settings OK and some of the messages. Other mail folders were missing and
had thier names truncated and replaced with wierd numbers. I tried importing
and exporting with the same result. Is there a limit to how many messages
are stored in storage files?
I also tried to use Thunderbird, as Windows live looks pretty hoaky, but
there is not an option in Thunderbird to import from Windows Mail. Any
suggestions? I want to make sure I have all my messages safe before I
install W7 and loose my windows mail.

To import to Thunderbird you need to go to the Thunderbird website and
download the Import/Export addon. Once having done so you will be able
to import you Win Mail messages without any problems.

WLM is a real pain IMHO - ditch it.
