There is no definitive way, although it can't be turned on without being logged in to your
account. Also, if you're using Messenger Plus you should check that it isn't logging as
well.
If you're worried about being on your network capturing your conversations, you can (and
you'll have to convince your contacts to do so also), install Simp:
