As mentioned before, my laptop has been upgraded from non-OEM XP to Vista
Ulitmate by the upgrade key I bought online. I don't know if it's a retail to
make sure I can move the Vista to another computer without losing the key!!!

Look at your product ID and if it doesn't say OEM then if you got it
activated and it passes the Genuine Windows test, you are good to go.
Windows key/pause break

You can't! You need to reinstall Windows Vista via the DVD, because even
though you downloaded the program, you need to burn the image to a DVD in
order to install it.

But you can try and see if it takes. Make sure the data is backed up,
before you do, though.

Your answer also means I can move the Vista to another PC without losing the
key, doesn't it?

Following your guide, I've found that mine is not an OEM. So relieved!

While upgrades to OEM are subject to retail rules in the EULA, you are in
trouble from the standpoint that you must install upgrade copies of Vista
from within the qualifying os and you will probably not be able to install
it on the next machine. Maybe someone can give you a solution to your
dilemma. With XP, you were legally allowed to just use your OEM media for
qualification and then call in for and get telephone activation.
