Just when I strart WIndows Update, on the very first step - checking
for the latest version of Windoes Update software the process stalls. Some of the wu* files are checked showing no need to be updated. Then, evidently when WUWEB.DLL strats working, the erorrs start to happen. On this computer ALL (I mean ALL) WIndows services are not disabled. This SP1, the same happed after installing SP2 and after the roll back from SP2 to SP1. Is there a way to fix this and continue with Windows update? Try the following:-
Click Start, select run and type the following (pressing okay after each one):- net.exe stop wuauserv regsvr32.exe wuapi.dll regsvr32.exe wups.dll regsvr32.exe wuaueng.dll regsvr32.exe wucltui.dll regsvr32.exe MSXML3.dll net.exe start wuauserv Try WU again.
