Hi, I have a before decribed problem with checking on updates: it ends in
"site cannot be displayed/ Server or DNS not found" with subjects to check on
at internet options.

I checked on all of that and on part of the Errorcodes at the Supportcenter,
but did not decide to follow all because no Errorcode appeared.

Only the first 3 Updates came in properly after new Installation of XP home
Ed. SP2 : since then it is stuck.

Inbetween automatic update activated somehow in the Background and works
(analog Modem already more than 2 Hours for 30% ?)very slowly within the
Security center.

Still I cannot check on the available Updates.

Anyone has an Idea ?

THanks , Mike

More detailed info: 3 Updates ran: Windows installer 3.1 ; KB 898461 and
KB892130(genuine advantage checktool!!) after that the problem occured for
the first time:

The reply or statusline on the bottomline shows the http:\updates adress
/..../v6/errorinformation.... before it it gets stuck!

Is this a v6 cab problem?

And my XP home SP2 is an OEM Version activated by internet yesterday Dec.
12th.2005

Does it make sense?

Mike
