When I go to check for updates so I can download Service pack 2 I get the
following message "The website has encountered a problem and cannot display
the page you are trying to view. The options provided below might help you
solve the problem. " Error number Ox80244OA. Ithought it might because the
site may be busy but it has been several hours and just tried again and got
the same thing.

Try re-registering the MSXML3.DLL

Click Start, select Run and type:
regsvr32 msxml3.dll
Select Okay.

Try WU again
You may have to reboot

Rhonda:

As a safeguard, I would just order the SP2 CD. It's free from Microsoft.
That way you will always have a copy in case you need to reinstall.

You can slipstream (merge SP1 and SP2) together, and have a final XP CD to
reinstall from.

computer. When I went to do SP 2 i couldnt get on. I am trying one more time.

Also check your firewall settings.

Do a search on "0x8024400A" in the Newsgroup for other suggestions.

Go to START> RUN> type in " regsvr32 msxml3.dll " without the quotation marks
and Hit OK...... Reboot your computer and see if updates work.
