Chkdsk errors

Chkdsk shows that i have errors in the MFT and also the Volume Bitmap. I have
used a defrag called perfectdisk which seems to have sorted out the MFT,but
it still shows errors in the volume bitmap. I have got a new hard drive 3
weeks old. I run chkdsk/f/r but it does not repair anything

Usually chkdsk does a repair on a schedule ( windows start).
Did you try: open "my computer" select drive properties\tools\error
checking select the two check boxes.
close, restart windows. at the end of the routine windows will restart you
should see a page where it's says your drive is clean.
to see the results report look at the event viewer
( EVENTVWR.MSC)
look in application winlogon.

I done the chkdsk as you advised,this is what came up. Deleting index entry
tmp.edb in $130 of file 17433 errors found.chkdsk cannot continue in read
only mode.i ran chkdsk from command prompt and it said correcting errors in
the volume bitmap.Windows found problems with the file sytstem.run chkdsk
with the f/(fix) option to correct these.i looked at the eventvwr log,i found
the winlogon what should i look for
