Here's an update:
1. i exchanged the phone and got a new phone.
2. i also got a new SIM card (just in case the old SIM card had anything to
do with this).
3. uninstalled activesync on my machine, deleted the directory, and
re-installed activesync
4. connected my new device to my laptop to start synching.
5. once again 'contacts' is greyed out. email, tasks, and calendar is
synhcing and appears on my device. no contacts show up on my device. i have
about 650 contacts in my outlook, all on the main folder.
can anybody with experience in this help? i am really disappointed, that
straight out of the box the device doesn't get me contacts (happens on 2 new
devices), and there is no mention about how to fix this, or why the contacts
item is greyed, although the checkbox is active. However the settings button
is deactivated when 'contacts' is selected in activesync.
i am catching a flight in 1 hour, and would like to get some help on this
ASAP.
