Can anyone help with regards to introducing the above router into an existing
network. We currently have a draytek router and modem running 2 broadband
lines onto a network with windows sbs server 2003.

The customer has purchased a BTnet 10 meg leased line and a cisco router has
arrived and been setup! i believe by bT however i am not familiar with cisco
routers and how to connect them up to the network to replace the existing
routers?

Could anyone help please or point me in the right direction....
thanks

If the ISP sent you a router to use as part of their service, it is probably
already pre-configured and they may not allow you access into it. You would
have to call the ISP for instructions on plugging it into the network, and
ask them to setup the internal LAN interface with the IP range that you are
currently using, as well as setup any NAT translations.

Otherwise, if you are asking for specific help in how to administer or setup
from scratch a Cisco router and your ISP is not an option (but I can't see
that happening because from what you are saying, they own the router), your
best bets are the following options:

1) Post your specific questions to a specific Cisco newsgroup that have
engineers or folks that are very familiar with a Cisco 1800 (they should be
similar to others if using the same IOS)

2) Call Cisco under your Cisco 24/7 Gold support contract. They will use SSH
to remote in and configure it for you from scratch with everything you want
done from start to finish. However, if the ISP owns the router, that may not
be an option.

3) Hire a qualified consultant that is familiar with this series router IOS.
