Is there an option to make Vista's Explorer dialog boxes look similar to the
old XP versions?

Probably not. Dialog boxes are hard-coded in system files and generally can
only be modified to the extent that system customization allows.

I only ask because when XP was introduced the option to have 'classic' views
was still there.

Hi Paul,

You can right-click on the Desktop, choose Personalize, Themes, and then
select the "Windows Classic" theme. This will change the overall appearance
of Windows, not just dialogue boxes. But if you like the classic look, you
may find Windows Classic a more congenial interface than the garish, ugly,
even meretricious, "Aero" theme.

Hope it helps,

LOL

I had to look it up, excellent adjective!

meretricious a. [f. L meretricius (f. meretric-, MERETRIX) + -OUS.]

1 Of, pertaining to, characteristic of, or befitting a prostitute; having the character of a
prostitute.
2 Showily but falsely attractive.

meretriciously adv.
meretriciousness n.
..

Hi Paul,

As Andrew as suggested, you can change to the ""Windows Classic" color
scheme. This tutorial will show you how with screenshots to guide you
along.

Way off-topic, but very quickly: it was F.P.A (Franklin Pierce Adams),
one of my favorite humorists, who said "Have a meretricious and a
happy new year!"

It has to be 2.
Definition 1 implies money exchanged for some sort of pleasure.
From what I read on here there's not much pleasure with Vista!
:-)
