After installing and uninstalling s/w several times I have left over and
redundant entries in the Right click>New menu. Some of them are good to have
like, New file, New Shortcut, New Text Document etc. But when the list get's
to long and with redundant entries it's time to clean it up. Does anyone know
how to best do this clean up?

Thanks
Jan

Run regedit. Navigate to HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT\*\shellex\ContextMenuHandlers.
Under it delete the keys to the unwanted entries. Be sure to backup your
registry first!!

What is "s/w"?

Bob,

Thanks for your help. I can see some of the entries under
HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT\*\shellex\ContextMenuHandlers, but unfourtunately not the
ones that are redundant. Any ideas?

s/w was ment to mean different software programs I intalled and later removed.

Search the registry for the names of the items.

Also search your PC (make sure "display hidden files" in unchecked).
