As your husband knows what was transferred, maybe you should ask him..

In the meantime, do a Google search on 'getting rid of sites and things'..
if you do not find what you are looking for there, then perhaps you should
re-word the question and try again..

hi Mike im not sure what you mean by re wording. he transfered everything
that was on the old computer and when im looking up programs or just trying
to find something on the computer i find programs or sites and downloads i
didnt put on.. im still in the learning process here....I just dont want o
take out something that i may or may not understand that needs to be left on
the computer?I was hoping there was a download or cd i could get that brings
up stuff on your computer that may show me what hasent been used in a long
time and is safe to take out sorry this may be so confussing. { Husband is
more in the dark than me and has no idea what was transfered other than he
said took a long while.}

Without knowing to what you refer, it is next to impossible to tell you what
to remove.. and no, there is no magic removal program that has the option to
'remove anything my husband installed'..

How can he be in the dark about any of this?.. he would have to know how to
copy stuff.. did he copy the stuff to CD and then place it on your
computer?.. did he network the two computers and transfer stuff in that
way?.. did he place the old computer drive into yours and copy across?.. did
he copy programs, or actually install them?..

More questions.. what software, over and above the operating system, did
Dell supply?.. how are you finding this stuff?.. are you looking in folders
contained in Windows Explorer?..

To remove unwanted 'Favorites', open Internet Explorer 6 and then click on
Favorites.. run the mouse over the favorite that you do not want.. right
click on it and then select DELETE..

To remove unwanted programs, go to Control Panel - Add/Remove Programs and
uninstall anything that you do not want or need.. if you are not sure about
something, and you do not have the installation media such that it can be
easily re-instated, leave it alone..

For other stuff, make a list and repost here..

Also, as you are a new user, DO NOT go into Windows Explorer looking for
programs to start.. use the desktop interface to access known programs and
files..
