Is there any way to clean out declined and superceded updates to free up space?

Hi,

To delete files for updates that are no more marked for "Install", you
can use the WSUS Server Diagnostic Tool.

C:\>E:\Tools\WsusDebugTool.exe /Tool:PurgeUnneededFiles /?
Tool Description:
PurgeUnneededFiles: Delete all files not needed on the WSUS server.

You can download the Server Diagnostic Tool from here:

Hi,

i have tried this command d:\WsusDebugTool.exe /Tool:PurgeUnneededFiles

and those files that were approved to be declined was still showing on the
WSUS admin page. Also, the files still haven't removed from the folder
c:\wsus\WsusContent.

Hi,

That command will not remove any metadata from the WSUS admin page. The
only way to get rid of updates from the WSUS admin page is to uninstall
WSUS (including the database) and then do a fresh install of WSUS again.

The PurgeUnneededFiles option should have deleted the update files in
c:\wsus\WsusContent though.

And a fyi:

Please post WSUS related issues to the newsgroup dedicated to WSUS:
