System Information says I am running Windows XP Professional, Version
5.1.2600 Service Pack 2 Build 2600.
I installed SP2 as soon as it came out.
As far as I know, automatic updates has been enabled and working properly,
except when I implemented your early suggestion to turn off the automatic
updates for Internet Explorer. (I have automatic updates scheduled daily at
9 PM, so that might explain why the critical updates from today hadn't been
installed yet?)
Whn Microsoft Update pops up (as it now does all the time), it always gives
me the green check, saying that "Automatic updates: turned ON."
