Hello,

I have a Windows XP SP2 with the newest IE6 and when I go to Start -
Programs and click on Windows Update nothing at all happens.

I have done the Regsrv32 on these files:

regsvr32 Oleaut32.dll
regsvr32 Actxprxy.dll
regsvr32 Mshtml.dll
regsvr32 Urlmon.dll
regsvr32 Shdocvw.dll
regsvr32 Shell32.dll
regsvr32 wuapi.dll
regsvr32 wuaueng.dll
regsvr32 atl.dll
regsvr32 wucltui.dll
regsvr32 wups.dll
regsvr32 msxml3.dll

Also the thing is if I have IE already open, I can then click on Start -
Programs and click on Windows Update and it will now load.

Thanks

Steve,

Try this:
regsvr32 /i shdocvw.dll

If that does not help, open %Windir%\Inf folder and locate the ie.inf file
(might display as ie in Windows Explorer). Right-click IE.INF, and choose
Install. Insert your XP CD (integrated with SP2), OR point to the folder
%Windir%\ServicePackFiles\i386 for the updated versions of the system files.
