Client Machines Wont Look at SUS Server...

I have a Win 2003 Server running SUS in a non Active Directory Enviroment.
I've tried setting the group policies and editing the registry on the client
machines (XP) to use the SUS but they keep going to microsoft for the
updates. Probably something really simple i've missed....! can anyone help
