I have recently upgrade my server from SUS to WSUS. I have 100 clients
reporting are receving updates. However, I have another 75 Windows XP
SP2 clients that haven't been updated since April (mobile users) and i
can't get them to update.

When I bring these units in, they ARE reporting to the new upgraded
WSUS server. From the server I can see the list of needed updates.
However, the clients never get the prompt to update, unless I first got
to windowsupdate.microsoft.com and it applies the 3 updates (Installer
3.1, KB898461, and KB892130).

I have manually installed the Installer 3.1 and KB898461 but the cleint
still refuses to update unless i visit the windowsupdate.microsoft
first.

This is driving me nuts!!!!!!

Hi,

Fyi:

Please post WSUS related issues to the newsgroup dedicated to WSUS:
microsoft.public.windows.server.update_services

WebNews link to the WSUS newsgroup:
http://www.microsoft.com/communities...pdate_services

Or use a newsgroup reader (default Outlook Express) to access this new

MS newsgroups are organized so that you have the best chance of getting
a relevant answer by posting into the newsgroup related to the product
you are using.
