Clients not registering in WSUS

We have multiple remote locations with multiple pc's at each location. At
some locations not all stations were registering with WSUS. I reviewed the
windowsupdate.log file and noticed that the clients that were not registering
were generating a 0x80072efd error. I researched the error and applied all
the suggestions from support sites and the error went away. The system would
still not register.

After a couple days I went back and reviewed the logs and noticed that the
client was connecting to the WSUS server. It had downloaded the latest
approved updates and successfully installed them. The client still does not
show up under WSUS. Other clients at the location do.

The client is XP Pro sp2. I have not been able to determine how the client
can connect and download updates but not show up in WSUS. Anyone have any
ideas or suggestions.
