This only happens to me with Vista Ultimate (and not XP pro I'm dual booting
with Vista): sometimes, after a couple of copy/pastes in my document editing
(mainly MS Word), when I want to paste anything else (like a link into an
e-mail message) the paste stops working.

I suspect sort of the clipboard overflow,as it's enough to re-login and the
copy/paste functionality is back.

Is it a knows problem, and is ther a way to flush the buffer without
re-logging?

On the Word Edit menu, click "Office Clipboard" and rightclick any clipboard
item to 'Delete'

In addition to Mark's suggestion, you should run SFC /scannow at an elevated
cmd prompt so this doesn't keep recurring, and you can install a "clear
Vista clipboard feature" that can clear this up quickly within Word or on
Vista in general.'

Clear Vista Clipboard Shortcut.

Good luck,

Word stacks multiple clipboards. I don't see anything in your post to clear
them. They can be cleared in Word. Personally I find it easier to just
highlight a space and hit cntl/c
