Cluster Nodes Not Failing Over - Physical Disk Resource in

We have a Windows 2003 Enterprise Sp1 Active/Passive Cluster consisting of 2
IBM xSeries 445 servers with DS4300 (FAStT600) attached to both. We are now
experiencing the following symptoms if we try and fail a group over which
contains physical disk resources they won't move until the node we are trying
to move them to is re-booted. The re-booting resolves this for a short while
however invariably the next time the disks try to fail over the same error
occurs.

We have the following configuration:

Windows 2003 Enteprise SP1
IBM DS4000/FAStT Storage Manager Host Software version 09.19.x5.06
We are using RDAC

Yep. If you are running SDD version 1.6 or greater, IBM will have to work
with you because the disk is not being released. It is a SCSI-3 PR issue,
most likely, and we do not recognize that in W2K3.

Hi Chuck,

I work with gtlscot. I can't see SDD installed on any of the servers
currently with this problem. Is it a component of IBM Storage Manger?

Did I read that correctly .... you have an active pagefile on one of your
shared disks?

If that is the case, it is very likely your problem. Under NO circumstances
should a pagefile be located on a shared disk.
