Cluster Server: how to start over

Hello All,

I have 2 W2K3-EE servers (VMs) in a lab environment. When the servers were
staged, Clustering Service was installed. When opening the Cluster
Administrator console, absolutely nothing was there. I have since created a
new cluster and several groups with resources. Now, I'd like to start over
from the very beginning.
I can delete the resources, and the groups, execpt for the very first group.
How do I delete the very first (or last remaining) group, then delete the
actual cluster?

TIA,
DetRich

Just evict the nodes...that's how you uninstall cluster from a node.

If you're having issues evicting nodes, you can run the following command on
each node to clean up the cluster settings:

cluster node /forcecleanup

I was able to Evict the nodes successfully and get Cluster Administrator back
to an unconfigured state.

John,
A while back, I ran the "Cluster node / forcecleanup".
I noticed that the Cluster Service was no longer installed (meaning, it is
not listed in the Services.msc console).
Can you explain exactly what that command does? Can you refer me to some
documentation on this command?

Thanks very much!

Our high end SQL server cluster is maxed out, how else to expand? Will it help to move tables off of the cluster onto other clusters or will that just create processing bottleneck on the cluster running SQL server? Daniel Clustering 1 07-23-2007 11:10 AM
