Is it ok to copy VHD files from a cluster shared volume using robocopy?
I shut down all VM's accessing the CSV, then run robocopy on the node that
owns the CSV to make a copy/move the VHD file.

I think yes - there should be no issues with that, you should only initiate
the robocopy job from the coordinator node (owner of CSV).

Thanks

Sure, why not? The VHD is just another file at that point.

Thanks, just wanted to be sure. I know there are some restrictions when
working with CSV

I guess it will work but I wouldn't take the risk.
when you enable CSV there is an explicit warning telling that only files
created by Hyper-V are supported.
Now I guess the VHD's are created by hyper-V.
I've seen weird behaviour when using CSV's for other purposes...

Copying VHD files to the CSV volume using robocopy, copy explorer and other
MS copy tools is supported.
