I keep getting a message CNDNDlg stopped working. It happens when I try to
run Windows Media Player, which promtly crashes everytime I try to view
photos all other options appear ok but the program is damn slow.
It's a new top of the line Dell XPS laptop. Not too impressed with it so far.

A quick Google for "CNDNDlg" tells me this file is connected with Canon
digital camera software. If you installed software for your Canon
digital camera, it isn't working. Go to Canon's website for your
specific model camera and get the latest drivers/software. If you
already have the latest, then you can contact Canon tech support for
help with their product. Or use the best workaround for connecting
digital cameras - use a USB card reader instead. Issues with Canon
software have nothing to do with native Vista or Dell.

CNDND stands for Canadian Dominion, didn't you know that?

Kidding aside you should call DELL or do online concierge talk. They are
very responsive.

If you want to research the issue yourselves:

Malware reports:
http://www.spywaredata.com/spyware/m...ndndlg.exe.php

http://www.bleepingcomputer.com/file...exe-36469.html

Don't immediately jump to conclusion that it is malware. Some of those sites
try to scare you into buying their spyware removal tool the moment you
opened their page.

The best thing is to download and install Spybot Search & Destroy. It is
free for individuals. Corporations pay fees.

In addition to what Malke said I can pitch in that it is possible to talk to
Canon, they are incredibly good. A few months ago my small digital camera
stopped working. I almost gave up on it and wanted to throw it away. My
secretary took it to her computer enabled daughter in law, the smart girl
researched the issue on their website, found out that there was a recall for
this defect for this camera (I purchased it 5 years ago and had no receipt
or anything). My secretary called Canon. They walled her thru the camera
buttons. They said--that's it. Send us the camera. She packed it and send it
back to them. I got a brand new camera with new feature, new model within
approximately the same price range in a week. I was sitting all the time in
my office while she was giving me updates on the developments.

Didn't you see from my post that I did at least the same? Or even more?

Some minds are rather shallow around here.
