I keep trying update my computer and I keep getting the same thing....code
646 windows update encountered an unkown error. Can some please help me
with this

All we can tell from this message is that you have a problem, but the
particulars of the problem are left to the imagination.

Specify what your O/S and Service Pack level are.
Specify which update(s) by KB number cannot be installed.

Inspect the install log file(s) for reported errors. The log(s) may tell
which file was being installed when the error was reported.

To add to your post, the OP can do a search in this group for "646" and find
a hundred posts on this problem.
