I loaded the CommunityForumsNNTPServer (codeplex one).
I thought it was suppose to replace the other 2- bridges, so you only had it
running?
I can only get the social answers forums if I load the
CommunityForumsNNTPServer &
the Microsoft Answers NNTP Bridge. I have it loaded in Windows 7 64 using
windows live mail
newsreader.
Anyone?

You might find help here.

http://communitybridge.codeplex.com/Thread/List.aspx

and here if you have access.

https://connect.microsoft.com/Micros...i/default.aspx

Even though the Microsoft forum was intended for the Microsoft Bridge, the
discussion is mostly about the Codeplex Bridge currently.

Not sure what the problem is, Kue2. I'm seeing both Technet and Answers
forums without issue. Took a while to get all the "newsgroups" downloaded,
but now works fine.

Agreed about both sources for help, though I suppose we should be polite and
stick to the CodePlex forum for help. (But then, why would anyone running an
NNTP bridge to not have to deal with Forums through the Web want to then go
to a Web Forum for help? And the Connect "Forum" is also a Connect
newsgroup. )

Well, I do access the Connect groups through NNTP, but for the Codeplex,
there is only the Forums. And like you, I'm not sure what the problem is,
so directing him to those two was my best shot!

Oh, you were right on target. And the good thing is that there's quick and
useful support happening for the Community Bridge, so he'll either get help
to fix his problem, or it will identify a bug and that will get fixed
quickly.

Hi again
I got it working by loading the answers bridge too, and putting both bridges
on port 120.
I also checked to get descriptions.
Now I get all newsgroups, but I still have to use both bridges, community
(codeplex) & answers.
But this solution does work.

Kue2,

Check this link out

http://communitybridge.codeplex.com:80/

Currently Jochen is on build 29, it's one bridge that will replace the two
that Microsoft requires. The only problem (if you want to call it a
problem) is Jochen comes out with multiple builds a day. I usually only get
one build a day (I'm on ver 28 now) unless I find a problem. Try it, I
think you will like it better than the two that are on Connect.

Make sure your newsreader is set to port 120 (right mouse button -
localhost-properties-advanced.) change port to 120
