I am looking after tuition needs of seniors who now have either XP or Vista.
On my Vista (Home Premium) computer I am using Microsoft Office 2007.
Can I also install Word 2003 or all of Microsoft Office 2003 and use it in
XP compatibility mode?
Thanks in advance
Gus

You can run either Office 2003 or Office 2007 on Vista , not both at the same
time.

Office 2003 is perfectly compatibile with Vista. You just install it
normally, not in XP SP2 compatibility mode. The same for Word 2003.

I disagree that both offices <or parts of them> cannot be installed at the
same time and both work. I had Word 2003 and Excel 2003 installed along
with the full office 2007 and everything worked. During the install of Word
and Excel 2003, there was a lot of balking, but everything installed and
worked fine. I would suggest having a backup image of you whole hard drive
prior to trying the install for safety sake.

Try installing Office XP and Office 2003 on an XP machine. Won't work!!
And I stated Office 2003 and Office 2007(full Office Suites) can NOT be
installed at the same time.
Try reading posts!!!!!

Want to bet cash on it?

Gus,

If I may ask are looking to install 2003 to be compatiable with "old format"
word documents?

If so you only need 2007, you can use save as to save any document in .doc
form rather that .docx form. 2007 will see and read and .doc form document
without issue. You can also send and recieve attachment with the 'old form'
without issue, have been doing it for a few months now.

If my assumption is incorrect, sorry and jus ignore this.

You might try looking at Open Office- it is compatible with all Windows
OS from Win98 to Vista. May keep you from having to try to install 2
Office Suites and save some money too.

"OpenOffice.org is a multiplatform and multilingual office suite and an
open-source project. Compatible with all other major office suites, the
product is free to download, use, and distribute."

I'm using it on Vista64 and it works great.
