So, I'm in a similar situation and want to confirm whether or not either of the listed products fixed the problem. I have a Hauppage! WinTV-HVR 1250 and it has an IR blaster port in the back and comes with an IR blaster cable as well. The remote that came with the card works perfectly. I can navigate Windows Media Center and everything with it. However, when I setup my TV signal it says "IR Hardware Not Detected".
I'm using Windows 7 64 bit and have read around that this seems to be a very common problem, yet I cannot find a solution other than buying a completely new remote (even though mine functions perfectly fine) just to get a USB IR reciever?
Also note that the cable box has a spot for an IR Blaster cable and have had one plugged into it and tried w/out it being plugged in there.
So I guess my question is, has anyone tested either of the remotes that Barb Bowman linked in Windows 7 64 bit. And if so, do they work?
