I've recently had occasion to compose an e-mail where I needed to have the
letters
C N A typed together without spaces, but when I type those letters without
the spaces
live mail changes those letters to CAN. How can I stop this?

You can press Ctrl-Z after it changes "CAN" to "CAN" and it will change it
back.
