Computer Crash after enable Aero

I got a new ATI Randon 9600 Pro card with a Vista Certified tag on it. I just
reformated my HDD and reinstalled Vista on it. I let the computer rate my
system, and it rated my "Support for Windows Aero" a 5.4. So I went to go
enable Aero. After I did, my screen started flickering. It flickers slowly,
first saying "no signal detected", then showing the mouse on a black screen,
then showing the desktop (but freezing the desktop). It repeats this about 3
or 4 times in a period of around 3 minutes, and then gives me a Blue Screen
Of Death with no text on it (just a blue screen). The computer restarts, and
this happens everytime I log on to any account. I started in Safe Mode, but
can't figure out how to disable Aero in Regular mode from Safe Mode.

How much video RAM is installed on the video card? And make sure you
download the newest drivers from http://ati.amd.com for your card.

There is 256MB of RAM, and yes, I do have the latest Vista drivers for this
Video Card.
