Computer crashed after10-13-04XPservice pack2 hotfixupdateXPKB8858

Hi,
I have automatic update on XP service pack 2 and today after updating two
hotfixes, my comp refuses to boot normally forcing me to log in thru the safe
mode. Despite deleting the two updates and even using system restore to a
date one week ago, i cant seem to get it to work normally. Anyone else have
this problem? thanksanant

When I downloaded SP2, it caused my broadband to slow down to be slower than
ever my dialup was. I have tried to remove it by doing the uninstall in the
add/remove program section of control panel, but 5 files just won't budge. I
am not sure what to do now to get rid of them.... Any ideas?

This has happened to me as well.....when trying to download and install SP2
it downloads and installs successfully, then after restarting my computer
Windows won't start. I then log in through safe mode and do a system
restore, but I would really like to get SP2 installed on my computer. Help?
