i have just recently bought a new computer, it is a pentium 4 3.0ghz with
1024meg ram, 256meg graphics card etc..... i have been playing Pirates on it
which only needs a 1.0 ghz processor etc so my computer should handle it
easily but every now and then it just crashes to a black sreen which says 'no
signal' and i have to turn the power off. when i turn it back on again it
runs check disk, this then stops responding about 7o% of the time on a random
percentage. i then have to keep turning the computer on and off untill check
disk finally decides to complete its checks.

Any ideas as to what may be happening or what i can do to sort this problem
out as it is really annoying...apart from not play pirates!!!!

Thanks

"'no signal" means there is no signal getting from the video card to the
monitor.
Reseat and check monitor connections.
Open case and reseat video card.

Otherwise since this is not a Windows Update issue you should take this to a
more appropriate newsgroup, perhaps hardware:
http://aumha.org/nntp.htm
