Computer does not start up

I have a dell 3100 which when it attempts to start it beeps and displays 3
and 4 on the panel on the front of the computer which I have found off the
Dell website means there is a problem with the memory. I have tried taking
one memory out etc, but the computer still does not work.
When I turn it on it comes up with a black screen with options of how I want
to start. when selecting most of them it then comes up with a blue background
with an error mesage. (I do still see the windows scren)
Could this problem be overcome by replacing the memory?

Oops, you've inadvertently posted this in the Media Center newsgroup as opposed
to a hardware troubleshooting group.

Suggest that you try the Dell support forums to be sure you've interpreted the
problem being due to bad memory correctly.
