We have a new HP with Vista Premium. I have Yahoo.com as my browser. When I
click on Bookmarks the computer freezes about 20% of the time. I cannot do
anything and must log off and come back in or bring up the home page over the
top of the other one. It then works. Any suggestions? Jahay

Do you mean you have yahoo.com as your homepage?
I steer clear of yahoo. They recently teamed up with my ISP and now the only
way to read web mail is to d/l and install all sorts of horrible IE add ons.

The problem may be with your ISP. I have no problem with Yahoo Mail. Only a single add-on is required.

To the OP. Yahoo is not a browser. See if this solves your problem. Assuming your browser is IE7 which is pre-installed with Vista:
Right-click on the IE shortcut icon and select the Start without add-ons
option. You can then manage which add-ons are enabled, in Tools | Manage
Add-ons, after you've started IE7.

I don't have Yahoo Mail.
I mean if I want to read my mail (the account from my ISP) via their web
page, like I have for 12+ years, I now have to install a whole ton of Yahoo
related stuff which turns my IE into a walking Yahoo ad space!
For that reason I don't.

IE (no add-ons)

Was this helpful? Then click the "Yes" Ratings button. Voting helps the web

Why not use Windows Mail instead of a web based email program?

Unless you have a premium (paid) Yahoo account, you can't use anything but
the web interface.
Yahoo discontinued POP support for free accounts years ago.
