computer freezes when log-in is attempted

On a few websites I cannot log in without having my 2 computers freeze.
One computer's OS is Vista Home Premium with IE8 while the other is XP Pro
with IE8. On the Vista machine I get the continuously moving horizontal
black bar while on the XP machine I get the error message below:

I cannot locate any files on my machines that have any Roboform
applications.
I also suspect that this problem might have occurred after an IE8 update,
since I don't recall it being present after the initial IE8 Install.
Is there any way I can solve this problem without having to remove IE8 and
revert to IE7 or IE6?

Might want to do a Google search for "Roboform assertion failed". It
seems to be a common problem and related to installed banking
software/add-ons.
