computer freezes up!

Hi, I've been having trouble with my computer freezing up, especially at the
"windows is shutting down" screen. I run 98+. I recently got a registry
cleaner program but that didn't stop the freezing.
Also, when it does this, does forcing it to shut down with the on / off
button damage the computer?

I have 98SE. I have a "freeze" problem also. Whenever I try to shut down
Windows it goes to a screen view of "Windows is Shutting Down", then it just
stays there. I have run scandisk, the defrag, and it doesn't help a bit.
Any ideas for myself and Dayzee would be much appreciated!!

Hi Everyone!

I am having the exact same issue with my Windows 98SE operating system
freezing on me during shutdown mode. Any assistance would be most
appreciated.
